An extensive range of medications can be infused based upon the physician’s orders. Medications such as anti-infectives, biologics, diuretics, electrolytes, and others can be infused. Chemotherapeutic agents and blood & blood products are not administered in the Infusion Center.
The duration of the infusion will vary depending on the prescribed medication. Medications requiring more than a once-a-day dose may also be administered via ambulatory infusion pumps. Each drug has a distinctive protocol. Nurses clinically monitor patients and perform routine lab draws. All concerns and results are reviewed with the Clinical Team.
